An Effective approach to keep the virus away
Coronavirus, properly known as COVID-19, has grown into a full-blown global pandemic, with emphasis on social distancing and high personal hygiene measures to keep us safe until the advent of a vaccine. During such trying times which require us to do our best in terms of cleanliness and sanitation, we at Dr Car Wash have devised a strategy to fight COVID-19, sothat our customers can continue their cleaning measures right through their homes up to their cars. A combination of Car Wash, Detailing – wiping and cleaning car seats, handles and steering wheel and, vacuuming carpets in various steps with a variety of chemicals and cleaners multiple times, we ensure a high standard in vehicle sanitation to enable our customers during this era of ultra-high disinfection requirement.
There is much to learn about the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) that causes coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The virus, a highly contagious one spreads from person-to-person (within about 6 feet)transmission occurring via respiratory Droplet spread. Though, transmission ofcoronavirus from contaminated surfaces to humans has not yet been documented, current evidence suggests that SARS-CoV-2 may remain viable for hours to days on surfaces made from a variety of materials. Cleaning of visibly dirty surfaces followed by disinfection is the best practice measure for prevention of COVID-19 and other viral respiratory illnesses in households and community settings.
Our Action Plan at Dr Car Wash Westoaks and Memorial
As the situation regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we want to reiterate thatour top priority is the health and safety of our staff, customers and community. We are taking all the precautions and reinforcing the preventive actions we have in place, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). We want to share a few of the steps we are taking at our car wash locations.
What Exactly Do We Mean by Disinfection?
Disinfecting refers to the use of chemicals, for example, EPA-registered disinfectants, to kill germs on different kinds of surfaces. This process kills germs on surfaces after cleaning and further lowers the risk of spreading infection. At Dr Car Wash we use isopropyl alcohol to clean smudges andother types of last-minute details. Various materialsfrom plastic trim to painted chrome to imitation leather—have been tested to ensure they don’t degrade when exposed to pure isopropyl alcohol. It’s even possible to rub the exterior surface of soft cloth upholstery with alcohol in order to clean it.
According to the Centers For Disease Control (CDC): “It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.”
Car switches need to be kept clean too, knobs, screens and more. We make sure that the solution is diluted enough as the acidic property may damage the touchscreen display’s plastic or glass surfaces.
DIY Tip: For those high touch surfaces in the interior, an ammonia-based hot water solution can do the trick. Put it in a spray bottle and carry it in your car, along with some paper towels.Cleaning solution should be sprayed on a cloth first, then begin to wipe.Check the ingredients on your cleaners and if you have a question, call the manufacturer and ask if the cleaner is safe to use on your car. Whether you have cloth seats or leather ones we here at Dr Car Wash can clean them to make sure that your car is a safe ride back home.
Vacuuming your Car at Dr Car Wash
Cars get dirty having dust sit on them. Amongst the currentspring days, you musttake into account that allergies are around the cornertoo. It is recommended that you vacuum your car regularly. One should also pay attention to removal of mats in their car and vacuuming the areas underneath. You should vacuum your car each week or preferably twice a week, to minimize infections and dirt. Come to think of it, you get in and out of your car on those days you choose to shop for groceries and run errands.Unfortunately, fabric seats tend to soak in the bacteria. The surfaces particularly cloth or carpet are the breeding grounds for infections. So, make sure that you clean your seats regularly. All our locations at Dr Car Wash provide free high-pressure vacuums complimentary for our Car Wash and Detail Customers.

Please ask our lube serviceprofessional formore on how to receive these services. Get help from one of our representatives at Westheimer, Cypress or Richmond locations.
